five ten bugs proof
I never but most kids used to say five ten bugs proof when little children in the school play ground, I've absolutely no idea where this came from but you clapped your hands and touched your foot to prevent you getting germs from dropped sweets or a smelly person!
Germs- illnesses
It’s a lot
of money and a lot of time and effort to get to the start line of a big event,
it would be a terrible shame to get ill with some virus or other a month or two
before the kick off even worse the week or day before, but how do you prevent
that from happening you can prepare as much as you like and be unlucky, I’ve
only taken antibiotics once in my life and that was when I was unlucky and caught
dysentery in china, some things catch you when your unprepared, after that I started
carrying alcohol gel in backpacks when I was travelling, because dysentery is something
you can catch by touching a door handle or cup after someone else has touched
them,
From travelling
around the world I’ve had loads of vaccinations -yellow fever, hepatitis, polio,
rabies, that’s just of the top of my head, right now as I type there is the
corona virus outbreak! its not panicking
me my biggest concern is that my son catches it or the event is
cancelled, I feel sure I would survive it, I also think that within a short
time we will have a better understanding of either how to protect ourselves
from it like the malaria tablets I once had to take or the inoculations I’ve
had to take in the past, or some new antibiotics or immune system boosters
they are experimenting with, the human immune system is incredible my buddy is
getting his boosted to attack his cancer and it appears to be working,

Through
work I can get the flu jab I generally don’t bother as at 53 I feel I should
allow myself a chance to build up a resistance to these sort of colds and flu`s,
I did consider tasking the jab this year though just for the event I would be
gutted to miss it due to getting the flu! Maybe I shoulda taken that jab? HEALTH is WEALTH says the king of the cliches, and he is right enough
Being a
bit eccentric and liking to experiment and challenge myself and my life habits I
am at present giving wim hoff`s ideology a go just the first of his three
pillars about coldness, according to wim the cold is your warm
friend and one of his three pillars method. Proper exposure to the cold starts
a cascade of health benefits, including the build-up of brown adipose tissue
and resultant fat loss, reduced inflammation that facilitates a fortified
immune system, balanced hormone levels, improved sleep quality, and the
production of endorphins— the feel-good chemicals in the brain that naturally
elevate your mood, research him and his methods yourself watch his ted
talk and read about his achievements! A cold shower in the morning to boost
your immune system I may give it a go in the spring maybe!
With my
diet being mostly plant based these days, I still eat eggs fish and chicken sometimes
when away from home because plant based is very difficult when living in hotels
(getting better these days) which means I don’t follow a plant based diet enough
due to living in hotels about 75% of my time, while at home its all plant based
diet I’ve not eaten beef or dairy at all in over a year, I have bought some
vegan multivitamins and slow release vitamin C just to be sure my body and
especially my immune system doesn’t lack any vitamins, on the run up and during
the event, as it can be hard to get enough in for what I am putting out in
training and once at the event, I have already lost enough weight
Runners in general keep healthy anyway getting outdoors running for even just half an hour each day I am convinced keeps you healthier than those that don’t do it, my friends that get ill the most are the ones that spend the longest indoors and exercise the least,
nutrition is everything and I pay a lot of attention to my diet as anyone that knows me knows! getting ill during the training period would be unthinkable fast forward three years i am almost completely vegan these days, i still eat honey and eggs but no meat dairy or fish any longer for environmental reasons, i done another blog on probiotics and health, the worlds knowlkedge of this subject is increasing daily, i no longer trust doctors since well i bet you can guess? here is a blog i done on keeping healthy through one aspect of your diet - enviro-mental-schtuff.blogspot.com/2021/11/thoughts-on-probiotics you will need to add the htpp &stuff i couldnt work out how to post a link lol or maybe now i have?
